Years before I ever thought about starting Saywhat, I was at Stanford studying entrepreneurship. I was surrounded by brilliant people who were building amazing things. But building a product is only half the battle. Selling it is a completely different one. I understood this in theory but hadn’t faced it in practice.

And face it I did. My first company after graduation was in Web3 analytics. We had a great team and a solid product. Yet despite the fundamentals I watched a competitor take off, driven by the founder’s strong personal brand. Meanwhile, I struggled to get meetings because no one knew who I was.
